Cripple Creek - fiddle and band
Here is another superb version of Cripple Creek as fiddled by the late great Tommy Jarrell of Surrey County, NC. Notice that Uncle Tommy's fiddling includes many bluesy sounding slides, reflecting the strong influence of African-American musical traditions in Appalachian Old Time music.

Cripple Creek banjo
Hey again Franklin JAM students and parents! Here is a link to an interview with the late great Enoch Ruthford of Grayson County in which he plays Cripple Creek, a tune we are working on in class. Though the whole interview is well worth listening to, Cripple Creek starts at about 1:58. Enjoy listening and learning, try it on your own, and have fun!

Uncloudy Day
Hi JAM Students and Parents! Since we have been working on Uncloudy Day in class, here is a link to a great rendition of this classic tune by Mac Traynham and Shay Garriock. This is a great version to play and sing along with as you practice. Cheers all! Mr. Andy
